Alessandro Di Graziano, phD in "Engineering of road infrastructures", is associated professor of "Road, Railways and Airport" at DICAR. His scientific activity mainly focuses on road and transport management with special emphasis on safety and maintenance. His research products include about 70 published papers. He is member of the Committee of Permanent International Association of Road Congress (PIARC), member of the Board of Transport Agency (ASSTRA) and of the International Organization for Public Transport (UITP). From 2014 to 2018 he was General Manager of the Etna Railway and Metro Catania Agency (Ferrovia circumetnea) and member of the Observatory on Public Transport at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. From 2009 to 2013 he was Vicepresident of the Catania Bus Public Transport Company.

Giuseppina Pappalardo, phD in "Engineering of road infrastructures", is research fellow at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering (DICAR) of University of Catania. Her scientific activity mainly focuses on road and transport management with special emphasis on safety and road asset management. Her research products include more than 60 published papers. She is member of the Committee of Permanent International Association of Road Congress (PIARC).

Works at the University of Zilina, Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communication, Department of Road and Urban Transport. Her lectures at UNIZA includes Road safety and Transport psychology. She worked as a trainee in Ghesa, Department of Transport Engineering (Seville, Spain) and as a member of ERA Chair team for Intelligent transport systems (Zilina, Slovakia). She was main researcher in several transport related international projects (e.g. TRANSPORT LEARNING - Empowerment of practitioners to achieve energy savings in urban transport, ISEMOA - Improving seamless energy-efficient mobility chains for all, ProSAFE - Intensifying Professional Collaboration for Safer Road Transportation Among the Visegrad Countries, CERSC - Effective Road Safety Campaigns, SOL - Save our lives. A Comprehensive Road Safety Strategy for Central Europe, V4RSS - Moving towards V4 Road Safety Strategy, JOINITS - Joint Master Programme in Intelligent Transport Systems, Intelligent Transport Systems – New ICT – based Master's Curricula in Uzbekistan). Ph.D., Eng. Remigiusz Wojtal

He received his master’s degree in Economics from the University of Gyor, Hungary and in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. He gained his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Gyor, Hungary, where he is associate professor in the Department of Transport Infrastructure and Water Resources Engineering since 2012 and vice dean for research in the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Transport Sciences since 2015. He was a Visiting Scholar at Florida Atlantic University in 2013 and a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Connecticut in 2010. He was a member of the PIARC World Road Association Technical Committee 3.2 “Design and Operation of Safer Road Infrastructure” from 2012 to 2015. His main research interest is road safety, more specifically accident prediction models, traffic safety trends, surrogate measures of safety, and the effect of Autonomous Vehicles on safe road design.
